Get The Caulfield Cup Dress Code

It’s that time of year again, so dust off your members passes, reload your makeup kits and prepare yourself for this year’s spring racing season. Slay those races dresses cause it's a day renowned for its feminine and elegant touch. However, most of us remember it as a day of sore feet, melting make-up and empty pockets. So follow our style guide for the best derby day outfits for on and off the field.

LACE LOVERS

Why are we always so crazy about lace you may ask? Because it never dates. You will get more mileage out this sweet style than any other textured fabric. Try romanticising your look with additional elegant trimmings through your accessories for a fool-proof stylish option.

FLORAL FANTASY

Our fashion compass is set firmly on the floral trend. As ever, florals seem to have a way with making the you look and feel fresh. Forget the common print and head straight for these muted and abstract styles when hitting trackside.

WHITE ON WHITE

Pursue the all white erythaang trend this spring racing carnival. Need some convincing you ask? There's something about the all-white ensemble that screams simple, yet effortlessly chic. Afraid of looking like a bed sheet? Now is THE time to play with textures, cuts and silhouettes.

ACCESSORIES

NEVER, we repeat NEVER, underestimate the power of an accessory. However, when it comes to headpieces, bigger is not necessarily better. If you think chucking on the biggest so-called ‘fascinator’ on top of your head is going to cut it, it’s not. This year it is all about the headband and structured millinery. And finally, an oldie but a goodie: choose your footwear wisely. Nothing screams tacky like someone with heels in hand, from the words of Ron Burgundy, “Stay classy San Diego.”
